As an educator, I’ve often used the phrase, “5% of the students will give you 95% of your workload.” You know what, I have absolutely nothing to back up the thing phrase.

While there may not be a specific study or evidence to support this claim, I’ve observed it throughout my years of experience. The statement highlights the importance of being proactive and responsive to the needs of all students in a course. By providing additional support and resources to students who require it, we can help ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed.

As educators, we must remain vigilant to potential workload imbalances and be prepared to address them. Look to ourselves before looking at the students. By doing so, we can help create a supportive learning environment for all our students.
